Introduction

The IJDMD is an academic publication issued by the Taiwan Digital Media Society since 2009, with a print ISSN of 2078-4775. The journal was established to provide a platform for scholars and researchers in Taiwan to share their academic achievements. The IJDMD team is committed to a rigorous review process to ensure high academic standards. Scholars, graduate students, and professionals in the field of digital media design are welcome to join the society, and professionals from other interdisciplinary fields such as art, humanities, social sciences, education, business, engineering, and language are also welcome to contribute papers and share research trends and perspectives on digital media topics around the world.

History

After more than a decade of operation, the IJDMD was awarded the THCI (Taiwan Humanities Citation Index) Core 2 status in the 2021 Journal Evaluation by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). It became the first domestically published academic journal in the field of digital media design to enter the THCI index. From its inception, the journal has adopted a double-blind review process conducted by professional scholars both domestically and internationally. Authors can choose to submit articles in either Chinese or English. In the early stages, the journal focused on topics related to technology, theory, techniques, education, culture, and entertainment in the field of digital media design. Over the course of more than a decade, the scope of the journal's topics of interest has gradually expanded and deepened.

The publication schedule of this journal is as follows: in the first five years of publication (2009-2013), one volume was published annually. Beginning in 2014, two volumes were published each year, with one issue released in June and another in December. In recent years, in response to the digital era, this journal has entrusted iPress, a submission platform under the management of Hwa Tien Digital Corporation, to handle manuscript management. Paper submissions have been replaced by online submissions, and all manuscripts are subject to a cloud-based review process. Hwa Tien Digital Corporation also maintains a full-text database on its online library platform, which is available for free or for a fee to readers worldwide for download, retrieval, and citation purposes.
